Contest Directions: 
Legendary film director George Lucas is hiring writers for the Star Wars saga, which is set to continue in the form of TV series. Lucas has been hiring writers for this TV project since February 2006, and he is now getting some writers from outside of the US.
The filmmaker invited the writers to spend a week at his Skywalker Ranch in November, where they are going to finalize the story plot for the 13 episodes of the Star Wars TV show.
To celebrate the upcoming continuation of the legendary saga, put Star Wars characters (Darth Vader, Luke, Yoda, etc.) into the following works of art: paintings, drawings, sketches or statues.
Changing an original surrounding (e.g. background) of a painting (drawing, etc.) to a Star Wars theme is a plus. And last but not least... Use the force!

| | Star Wars - Universal Project of George Lucas, an American director
cum producer.
Official date of birth of this project - 25th may 1977 - date of
release of the movie "Star Wars", on the big screen, currently "Star
Wars, Episode IV, A New Hope", however a first universal production -
a homonymous novel book - appeared yet in the 1976 year, as producers
anticipated a failure in the film rentals.
Hierarchy of the Project
At present time hierarchy of the project may be described as follows:
* "Star Wars" (trademark) - a collection of all fabulous and
documental materials, released under the official license of "Lucas
film".
Star Wars universe - a collection of all fabulous and documental
materials, with star War themes released under official license.
+ Movie saga "Star Wars" - six film episodes (1977 - 2005).
+ Star Wars Expanded Universe - SW: EU, Shortly PB - universal "Star
Wars" apart from the cinema saga - supplementing and widening universe
for an interim period over 5000 years.
Movie saga at present includes in it 6 episodes, three serials, three
animation serials, novels (including audio novels), fictions and
stories, comics and magazines, encyclopedia and art albums, role
playing game, toys, video-computer games, documentary films and books
so on and so forth.
Cultural Influence
This rendered a big massive cultural influence, combining all
enthusiastic people in the fan clubs, role reconstruction clubs. At
first cine saga put whole similar named fantastic genre under
cinematography. The project popularity showed equally great, as its
name brought to the American Government Programmer "Star Wars".
Cine saga
The cinematographic cycle "Star Wars" has six episodes, shot in two
stages, in which the fourth, fifth and sixth episodes were shot first,
and only after sixteen years were the first ,second and third .
Original Trilogy
* 1977 - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
Stars Wars. Episode IV. A New Hope (English - Star Wars: Episode I: A
New Hope), in the beginning released in the name of Star Wars, this
was a scientific-fantasy film of 1977 year, shot by George Lucas. The
film was first in the saga according to the year of release and fourth
according to the saga of chronology.
The film action developed after 19 years of formation. Galactic
empire. The emperors could construct their massive destructive weapons
of star death, which are able to destruct the whole planets. How ever
leader of the rebel alliance, Princess Leia Organa could make up to
get the secret plans of these weapons, but she fells into the
imprisonment of the emperors. In the mean time a young farmer called
Luke Skywalker meets with the old master Obi-Wan Kenobi who lived many
years on the deserted planet Tatooine. After the emperors burn away
the house of Luke and kill his relatives, he steadily decides to
become Jedi and agrees to leave along with Obi-Wan Kenobi to save the
princess from the Imprisonment.
In 1974 year, inspired by the cine pictures probably a serial "Flash
Gordon" and Akira Kurosawa samurai film, and also by the book of
Joseph Campbell "The Hero with a Thousand Faces", Lucas started
working on the Star Wars. With a budget of $11 million, the film
was released on 25th may 1977 and stood as most popular film of those
days, earning 215 million dollars in the USA and more than 337 million
dollars through out the world only during the time of film hiring.
In spite of this the film achieved 10 awards from the film academy.
Film was reprinted many times, frequently with some essential
modifications - the most famous version was a special edition of 1977
with renewal special effects and simulated scene. |
