Spinach and E. Coli Pictures GalleryAdvanced Photoshop Pictures Gallery - 10 image entries
Contest Directions: [ The outbreak of E. coli linked to the spinach has made at least 166
people sick in 25 states. However, The Food and Drug Administration
says that eating spinach is safe as long as it doesn't come from
California's Salinas Valley. ]
Later FDA added that all side effects that eating spinach may cause at
this time start with "diar" and end with "rhea".
Also, few people know that in FDA dictionary "safe" means "you'll stay
alive if yer lucky". Years ago I attended an FDA conference
where they said: "Eat more spinach, it'll put color in your cheeks." But
dare I ask, how many of you want green cheeks, and brown butt-cheeks?
In this contest you are asked to photoshop how spinach infected with E
Coli may affect our society. Examples include creating miracle diets,
products, weapons, paintings or advertisements based on E. Coli
infected spinach.

| | Problems and health concerns associated with the outbreak of E. coli continues to grow. The concern continues to focus on fresh spinach and has been blamed for another five cases of people taking ill on Saturday. The total number of people who have taken ill is now standing at 171 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Food and Drug Administration has given a green light to consumers to start eating spinach again, nonetheless. However, that only applies to spinach that comes from areas outside of the Salinas Valley in California ... where most spinach actually is grown in the United States. The outbreak has hit 25 states and sent 92 to people to the hospital including one women in Wisconsin who subsequently died. There are two other cases involving deaths that may be associated with the outbreak -- a elderly woman in Maryland and a child in Idaho. For over a week the FDA has been telling people not to eat raw spinach ... period. Now that the source of the contamination has been traced at least to the Salinas Valley, the FDA is relaxing its warning at least to some degree. Nonetheless, this leaves the industry with the problem of letting consumers know where particular spinach has been grown. Many companies that package raw spinach have recalled their products in recent days. |
