The Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the largest statues on Earth made completely from one stone. It was built over 3 thousand years ago, and historians still can not answer the "Riddle of the Sphinx" - who was the author of this statue, and who was the real-life model for its face. Another question debated among historians is - what exactly happened to the Sphinx nose. One of the popular theories suggests that the nose was broken off with a cannon ball fired by the soldiers of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Great Sphinx of Giza is considered a guardian of the Giza pyramids, and represents the might of the pharaohs who ruled the Egyptian land thousands of years ago.
Photoshop the Great Sphinx of Giza any way you wish. Examples may include restoring the statue, merging it with other statues, dressing it, giving it a paint job, or nose job. Perhaps you can even solve the Riddle of the Sphinx and show what celebrity or politician it could resemble if they lived over 3 thousand years ago.

| | Egypt: The Big Sphinx.
Mystery of sphinx is baiting people as much as pyramids. Now Egyptologists are convinced though, that the sphinx is dated back to the era of IV dynasty Pharaohs, and we come across total absence whatsoever reference in the documents of the Ancient Kingdom. Then, why do eminent contemporary scholars continue tying up Sphinx with Khafre and insist upon the “chronological congruency of sphinx and the era of Ancient Kingdom’s IV dynasty of cannot be doubted?
One of the reasons is that a carved syllable on granite stele standing in between paws of the monument, and this was used as a proof that the sphinx had constructed Khafre.
A huge Statue with lion’s body and human head looks from Egypt to the East along 30th parallel. It had been caved in lime monolith from bedrock based Giza plateau with 72m.length, 11.5m at the shoulders and 20m height.
In 1988, Japanese scholars (Sakuji Ioshimura) with a sonar found that the fine stone of the sculpture is rather old than the blocks of pyramids. It is emphasized that the material of the sculpture is rather old. Second result is even sensational: electronic equipment shows that there is a narrow tunnel under the left paw of the stony statue and the tunnel goes to the Khefren’s pyramid. The tunnel starts at the 2 m depth and goes downwards. More to this to find out any th is not possible yet, but Prof. Ioshimura promises to bring out a new instrument to study the underground passage.
Though in early 90’s, American geophysicist Thomas Dobeszki found the first result while conducting seismological experiments around sphinx. Dobeszki’s sophisticated equipment recorded several anomalies and cavities in the rock between the paws at the sides of sphinx.
Another fact: hydrological studies brought out traces of erosion by a powerful stream of water at the statue’s pedestal ( but not by the wind or sand as insisted by Egyptologists). It is the same as regarding erosion ON THE FINISHED SURFACE TOO. British geophysicists estimate the age of the erosion is about 10-12 thousand years. This confirms the quite popular hypothesis of recent days that the Giza was built TWICE.
Now all, foundation of the sphinx and paws had been restored.
Basically possibility of water erosion of sphinx cannot be ruled out because Egypt in yester years was subjected to sudden changes in the climate and occasionally was inundated by sea (and that too not so long back) and also to intense overflowing of the Nile.
By considering the above we may figure our series of events as follows: About 12,500years ago unknown architects while encoding had erected a system pyramids, in this system’s plan they have encoded the union of three planets of Solar system, and also in lion statue’s direction they had encrypted date of the union. Time took its toll on pyramids, but the sphinx, carved out of solid rock possibly taken over by sand, withstood. 8000 years later, in fourth dynasty Pharaoh’s rule, rest of the pyramids had been restored. Not to leave out though, that sphinx also was subjected to restoration: it can be presumed that initially sphinx was just depicting of a lion but human head, more specifically, the head of Harem, the Pharaoh, (the sphinx is standing in front of his pyramid) was attached during Khavre’s rule.
French archaeologists had noted: Date of deluge in Egypt is congruent with Plato’s’ ruin of Atlantis.
In reference to the above said:
As it is supposed by majority of translators, Abul-Gol, an Arabic name of great sphinx means “Father of Horror”
However, Selim Hassan, Egyptologist gives alternative etymology. During his extensive excavations in 30’s and 40s of in Giza plateau, Hassan found in this part of Lower Egypt at the beginning of 2000 B.C. there was a settlement of alien canonites. They originated from the Holy city of Harram (located south of contemporary Turkey near the Syrian border), and most probably, they were wanderers. But in any case, their remained articles, assert that these wanderers dwelled in close quarters at sphinx and worshipped him as the god Hvl.
In ancient Egyptian bv means “place”.That’s why Hasson logically says that Abdul-Gol is just a corrupt form of bv Hvl, that means “place of Hvl”, and not “Father of Horror”, as it is thought.
