Archives in Moscow show that in the mid-1920s, Russia's top animal breeding scientist and researcher, Ilya Ivanos, was instructed by Stalin to turn his attention to creating a super soldier by breeding humans and apes. Stalin indicated that he wanted an invincible human being, insensitive to pain and indifferent about the food they were given to eat. In 1926, at Stalin's direction, the Politburo passed the request to the Academy of Science to create a living war machine soldier.
