Analysts have predicted that by 2017 the Social Security Administration will begin paying out more in benefits than it receives in taxes. The trustees concede that these predictions are accurate. The trustees of the program estimate that Social Security will be inundated by baby boom era retirees and will go broke all together in 2041. The Bush Administration maintains that the findings underscore the urgency of finding ways of fixing the Social Security system in the United States. Democrats maintain that the report undercut the President's efforts to maintain that the program was in an immediate crisis.
