Contest Directions: 
This Saturday we have another freaking experiment. Many members who graduated from apprentice league told us that they miss contests where a source image is provided. So today we are going to do a similar contest as we do in our apprentice section and ask you to photoshop a provided source image. If we members like it we may make such contest a regular weekly contest.
Photoshop this soccer goalie image (CLICK HERE to download) any way you wish. Some examples are - giving this soccer goalie some new clothes or objects, putting the soccer goalie into some new environment, movies, paintings. These are just some ideas.

| | In soccer, a goalkeeper can touch ball with hands within the limits of penalty zone. Goalkeeper's outfit should be different from the outfits of other players within the team and also from outfits of opponent players and referees. Goalie wears special gloves, allowing him to hold the ball better and to soften the impacts. Goalkeeper, who is out of the penalty zone, is considered as usual player. Lev Yashin is considered as the best goalkeeper in the history of soccer.
In many team game of sports, goalkeeper or the goalie – player, whose duty is to safeguard the goal, that is, not to allow the opponent to score a goal. Usually, special rules exist, which are applicable to goalkeepers. Often, goalies wear additional gear.
Goalkeepers in various sports other than soccer:
In bandy, goalie plays without stick within the penalty zone (semicircle of 17 m radius). Color of the outfit of goalkeeper should differ from the outfit of other players in the team. It is allowed for the goalie to wear protective gear and also special leg guards, which tightly cover the legs to protect from bruises upon falling and direct hit of ball. To protect the hands, it is allowed to wear special gloves, but the fingers of gloves of goalkeeper should be separate and should not have webbings or traps between the fingers of gloves. It is permitted to paste a layer of sponge, foam rubber or other material, without increasing the gloves sizes. Goalie also should be on skates and should wear a helmet. Usage of protective mask is mandatory for a goalkeeper.
In ice hockey, the goalie wears special outfit, consisting of mask, guards, trap and a special stick. Goalkeeper can press the puck to ice or hold the puck in trap to stop the game (for this purpose, the goalie should hold the puck from three seconds upto specified time and then return it for continuation of game). Attacking the goalie by team members of opposite side is considered violation of rule.
In field hockey, the goalkeeper wears protective gear and it is permitted for him to stop the ball with any part of the body.
In water polo, goalie can touch the ball with both hands, touch the floor of pool and strike the ball with fist at a distance of 4 meters from goalpost. Even the goalkeeper can score goals; however, in this case, the goalie is not permitted to swim across onto the opponent's zone. |
