Rock legend and guitar hero Saul Hudson, better known by his stage name Slash, is turning 45th this Friday. Slash originally rose to fame as a guitarist of Guns N' Roses (1985 to 1996), he later formed the eponymous Slash's Snakepit and co-founded Velvet Revolver with his former bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. His debut solo album, Slash, was released in April 2010. Time Magazine recognized Slash as one of the greatest electric-guitar players of all times, saying "Slash is a remarkably precise player who had to put up with more crap from his lead singers than any other guitarist on this list. Does he make the cut partially because of the hat? Yes. Yes he does."
Known as a bad boy, Slash never hid his love for women and alcohol - he said both are his greatest inspiration for rock music. Happy 45th Birthday, Slash!
To help Slash celebrate his 45th birthday, let's spice it up by photoshopping him any way you like.

This contest is fueled by the following news: Slash (birth name: Saul Hudson; born 23 July, 1965, Stoke-on-Trent) is a British-American guitarist who performed in the groups Guns N' Roses (1985-1994 (according to some data, October 1996)), Velvet Revolver (from 2002), Slash's Snakepit (1994-1996, 1998-2001) and Slash's Blues Ball (1996-1998).
Saul Hudson known as Slash was born in 1965 in the London region of Hampstead. He was born into a family of a white Englishman and a black American and both of them worked in show business. His mother was a costume designer for David Bowie and his father created covers for the albums of musicians such as Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. When Saul Hudson was 11 years old, he relocated to the US along with his mother and his father remained in England. In the mid 1970s, Saul Hudson attended "Beverly Hills High School" and was brought up by his grandmother as his parents separated and his mother did not have enough time for Saul Hudson.
When Saul Hudson was 15 years old, his grandmother presented him with his first acoustic guitar, with only one string. Soon, along with Stephen Adler, Saul Hudson formed his first group "Road Crew". Later, Slash met Axl Rose. Slash (solo guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar), Axl Rose (vocal) and Stephen Adler (drums) formed the band "Guns N ' Roses". Slash became one of the leaders of the group. In 1987 the album "Appetite For Destruction" occupied first place in many pop charts. The other two albums in the year 1991 – "Use Your Illusion" I and II had huge commercial success. But in 1994, Slash and Axl Rose broke up and Slash left "Guns N'Roses" to form his own band "Slash's Snakepit". In 1995, the group released the album "It's Five O'clock Somewhere". After a gap, during which Slash formed Blues Cover band "Slash's Blues Ball" (1996-1998); in 2000, "Slash's Snakepit" released an album "Ain't Life Grand". Only Slash was left out of the old members from the band "Slash's Snakepit".
In 2002, Slash, along with two former colleagues of "Guns N'Roses" – Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum formed the band "Velvet Revolver". Scott Weiland from "Stone Temple Pilots" was taken as the vocalist. The band released fairly successful albums and conducts concert tours.
Many times, Slash performed along with Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson and Zakk Wylde.
Slash had this stage image: hat "cylinder", long black curly hair and goggles, cigarette in mouth, narrow leather trousers and also a blue banana in the rear right-side pocket of his trousers. Slash predominantly performs on the Gibson guitar model Les Paul and is considered to be a huge collector of these guitars – the oldest guitar was made in1959. In his arsenal, Slash has around 10 personalized guitars by Gibson, manufactured exclusively for him.
Saul Hudson was born on July 23, 1965 in the Hempstead, region in North London.
He got his nickname "Slash" from a family friend from Seymour Cassel because Hudson was "always in a hurry and rushed around from one thing to another".

In 1995, Slash and Michael Jackson appeared together on stage at the MTV VMA ceremony. Once again, Slash performed on guitar in Michael Jackson's song, "D.S.", which was received with mixed feelings by the audience and was removed from the album "History".
