| | The farewell show of the world-wide popular American duet illusionists – Siegfried Fishbacher and Roy Horn took place on Saturday night. The trainers appeared on stage together with a white tiger with the nickname “Montecore”, which attacked Roy Horne during one of their shows in 2003. Unexpectedly, the white giant seized the trainer by the neck and dragged him behind the scenes. Doctors managed to save the life of Roy Horne, however, he remains a disabled person for life.
Only recently, the trainer began to move more or less independently. Only after that the opportunity knocked on the doors of Fishbacher and Roy Horne to bid goodbye to their audience on stage.
The farewell track of legendary trio – Horn – Fishbacher – Montecore, proceeded for about half an hour. During the show, Roy Horn was dressed in black overalls and with his face covered by a skull mask. The illusionist could hardly move periodically clinging to the shoulders of Fishbacher. At the very end of show, Horn removed his mask but did not utter any words.
The audience, which mainly comprised of stars from the entertainment industry, applauded the trainers which continued for several minutes.
The well-known illusionists Siegfried and Roy wanted to conduct the farewell show on stage after their 40-year-old career. Channel ABC will telecast this one-hour show on February 28.
“We could not organize a show to bid goodbye to one and all”, - said Roy, who was on excursion in the vicinities of Las Vegas during a recent opening ceremony of The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute. “That will be our last conclusive show which will never ever be repeated …”
Two weeks before the final show, Elizabeth Vargas, a news journalist from the ABC, is planning to interview Roy and Siegfried and the interview will be aired along with their final show. At present, Siegfried and Roy are preparing for this grandiose farewell event, which will take place in Las Vegas, Keep Hope Alive, Bellagio.
More than 900 wealthy admirers of the creativity of the illusionists Roy and Siegfried are to be present on the final farewell show including Hollywood stars, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Angi Dickinson and Andre Agassi. Only few tickets are left for their final show.
