At various times, schools consisted of 10-12 classes, which are divided into 3 levels — primary, middle and senior. Schools are attended in childhood. It is mandatory to pass examinations so as to pass school. School subjects are taught. Students are awarded “School-graduation certificates” upon completing school. In some developing countries, the school system is yet to develop fully.
The school is run on government funds (regional or municipal budgets), private persons and public associations and also by religious bodies. According to the educational level, schools are divided into — primary, upper middle (basic), middle and higher; with respect to gender of the pupils — boys, girls or co-education; with regard to religion — on secular and religious (confessional).
