Certainly, it is possible to buy a ready made garden doll and install it in a garden. But many gardeners have a creative approach and make original scarecrows and garden dolls independently.

Students at the University of South Florida have created a special robot-scarecrow for protecting the agricultural lands against birds, informs the site Raw Feed.
The robot-scarecrow is equipped with a web camera and a tiny computer with special software, which allows the robot to identify harmful birds. The robot-scarecrow shall drive away the birds with the help of water jets and signalization, issuing frightening sounds for birds.
The founders of the robot-scarecrow have programmed the scarecrow in such a manner that, in case of a certain orange object (i.e., a man, dressed in corresponding colored clothes) appears in front of the crop protector, the robot will not initiate any actions. Therefore, it would be better for innocent farmers to a wear orange uniform while working in the fields so as not to become a victim of the robot-scarecrow. |
