Students at the University of South Florida have created special robot-scarecrow for protecting the agricultural lands against birds, informs site Raw Feed.
Robot-scarecrow is equipped with web camera and tiny computer with special software, which allows the robot to identify harmful birds. Robot-scarecrow shall drive away the birds with the help water jets and signalization, issuing frightening sounds for birds.
Founders of robot-scarecrow have programmed scarecrow in such a manner that, in case if certain orange object (i.e, man,dressed in corresponding colored clothes)appears in front of the crop protector, the robot will not initiate any actions. Therefore, it would be better for innocent farmers to wear orange uniform while working in fields so as not to become victims of robot-scarecrow. |

FBI in Texas arrested several people suspected of being the so-called "Scarecrow Bandits" following the series of bank robberies in Texas. The seven bandits were named Scarecrow Bandits because they always dressed like scarecrows with loose shirts and floppy hats during bank holdups.
