| | Saw - An instrument with teeth, to cut anything. Manual saw is also
called as handsaw. And also saws exist, working on petrol and electric
current.
Chained saw, or power saw - hand chained saw, equipped with the
internal combustion engine.
Purpose:
It is designed for sawing wood substances and other materials. To the
end of the XX century they were used mainly in the timber industry to
fell the trees, later this operation was carried by some special
felling machines.
The chainsaw is operated by double acting petrol engine of internal
combustion, connected through the transmission system (reduction gear
box) with the saw chain. A closed anti friction rolling chain moves in
the tire moving direction and carries dented saw. Chainsaw has
automatic gear mechanism, working according to centrifugal principle,
in virtue of which the idle pass of the chain is immovable and safe.
In case, the load on the engine increases permissible during cutting
(for example, chain jam), then the automatic gear system will disrupt
(or weakens to the permissible level) Tran missive moment on tire, and
the engine will not fade. Chainsaw also has the mechanism of brake,
which immediately stops the chain during rapid return motion of the
tire in the direction of the saw operator, breakage of chains and
other accidental situations.
The tire of some models persevere with the gear box in such a

which gives possibility to accomplish saw cut, accordingly in
horizontal or vertical position. Many models of the chainsaw,
especially from the beginning were designed to use to fell the trees,

In the series of the feature films chainsaw is pictured as a weapon of
massive killings in the hands of abnormal psychic killer, figured as a
symbol for boundless cruelty, madness, destruction, inevitability of
evil.
This cinematographic stamp was so much popular, that served also as a
matter of caricature in cine parody, and also entered in some from
Doom-type computer games as one of the means to armor hero.
For example, it is extremely famous that the film "Cut me into
pieces!" (Another translation: "Texas chainsaw slaughter"), shot in
1974, and also its continuation "Texas chainsaw slaughter 2" 1986 year
and remake in 2003.
From the other side, Canadian masters for culture received chainsaw as
an instrument of sculpture on wood. A distinct popularity of the
sculpture chainsaw carving was discovered in the city of Hope in the
British Columbia, streets and squares which garnishes all the
creations of the masters of chainsaw today. |
