| | The rose (Latin - Rosa) is a type of plant of the family Rosaceae. Wild plants grow mainly in moderate zones. There are 400 different types of wild rose. Usually the plants have a shrub or liana shape. In the classical depiction, the rose has 32 petals, hence is the name rose of winds. As of today the rose is the most purchasable flower in the world.
Cultivation
The wild rose is widespread in the Middle East, the Caucasus including Azerbaijan and grows in forest margins, ravines and roadsides. All branches of the plant, even leafstalks and the middle veins are covered with sharp prickles. These prickles defend the plant from being eaten by animals, and also act as a hindrance in the extra evaporation of water.

Perfume industry:
The rose is used in the perfume industry (rose oil) for creating new varieties of perfumes. Rose oil (the majority of it is synthetic) is a component in 40% of men's and 98% of women's perfumes. French perfumers have high regard for roses grown near Grasse city and from plantations in the Rose valley in Bulgaria.
Medical industry
The medicinal value of the rose was known for a long time. However, today's western medicine rarely uses the rose, at the same time in the East; the rose did not lose its fame.
In the middle ages, many diseases were treated with the rose: disorders in menstruation periods, headache, stomach disorders, and stagnant feelings in the liver, fever (plague), eye infections and skin diseases.
Cuisine use:
The rose is often used in the kitchen for flavoring. And also well known is jam made out of rose petals.
Floral use:
Roses are amongst the most popular flowers for bouquet compositions.
