| | In days gone by, the living room was the most technologically simplistic room in a house. In today's world, it is nothing less than a high-tech battleground. Consumer electronics companies of all types are trying to digitize home entertainment, making it available anytime and anywhere. At the Consumer Electronics Show, which starts in Las Vegas on Thursday, the menu will be created for what is in store for 2005. This will include high definition television screens, new music and video recorders as well as other networked pieces of electronic equipment. The conference, which lasts for four days, is the high tech industry's largest annual get together in the United States. It will draw 120,000 people. The displays at the conference will include a 102 inch flat screen television -- which is the world's largest. The conference will also feature a hard disk for music players and phones that is the size of a postage stamp. |
