This contest is fueled by the following news:
An unusual football match took place in Tokyo. Players moved in that match were clumsy and different from top-liners skills in football. The matter is about Sony Corporation's robot AIBO model participating in the match. Some played football and others clad in samurai dress and bikini supported their co-brothers by dancing. Some are guided by their masters with the help of remote controls and others were programmed for responding to the moving ball. Prof. Ken Seno from Tokyo University who organized the match says that soon robots can overpower humans in their skills. He says: if to speak about the physical abilities of robots, today they are children. But it is just matter of time. They will overtake humans like computers did when they were several decades before working slowly and now they can execute different tasks quicker than humans. Japanese scientists took a big step towards creating "Ideal humanoid" which would exactly repeat all movements of a human. Scientists from Tokyo University are the first to constructed a robot which could jump vertically and landing smoothly on its own legs. Knees of robots are provided with artificial tendons which under compressed air, would function like springs. A robot of 120cm and 10kg can jump half meter up. News agency reports, besides above mentioned functions it can land smoothly land on its knees and also can kick football with force. With technology development, production of humanlike robots has been announced by Japan as strategic industry. Due to quick ageing of people in Japanese society, it is planned to use humanoids as substitution for imminent shortage of work force. Japanese engineers now have created dozens of two-legged machines which are similar to humans in isolated functions-gestures, ability to turn smoothly, turn handsprings, lie down, stand, move fingers and etc. Ultimate goal is to combine all these skills in one "Ideal humanoid"
