  • Rumsfeld bot

    Rumsfeld bot
        • Stellar blending on Saddam!
Good feel to the image overall.

(note: may wanna be careful on clipping copywrites on free wallpaper images, most have non-edit clauses in the usage)
        • Don't know how much you did here, but it's at least a great match!
        • Please be back in time to make the coffee ... Mr Secretary !!!!!
        • Please be back in time to make the coffee ... Mr Secretary !!!!!
  • Latrine Bot

    Latrine Bot
        • I hate to ask what that scary red thing is used for! Outch.
        • Nice work!

          Full view is a must.

If I were to offer a critique it would be to feather the edges a bit on the brush and maybe the plunger. (only apparent in full view)

Well done entry. Names on the sinks are a fine touch

Now that's what I call a Shiite job!

rolling on the floor with laughter!
        • Ah, into the dustbin of history goes...the dustbin!
        • Nobody caught that the bulbs above Uday and Qusay's sinks were burnt out!
  • Condi Rice Bot

    Condi Rice Bot
        • Un-Freaking-Believable!!! This is great!
        • Thats "Future President Condi-bot to you!"
  • C3PO and R2D2

    C3PO and R2D2
        • Nice job. R2 is VERY well merged, 3po seems a teensy bit bright in my humble opinion. (but thats just an opinion, its very close to perfect)
        • I love how you showed r2 with an accumulation of Iraqi dust
  • Saddam

    Saddam
        • Smiley stole my Caption

          Nice idea behind the chop.
        • So he did rule by an iron fist!

          Nice work.
  • i robot

    i robot
        • Cute idea.

Your masking is well done, but the robot is way too bright compared to his surroundings. Toning down the brightness and maybe even a touch of blur around the feet would make this guy fit in beautifly.
        • the robot was created well, just a little more shadowing needed.
  • Baghdad

    Baghdad
        • LOL, nice thinking and by nice I mean evil.

Softening the edges on this guy may make him melt into the source a bit better. He stands out as a bit pasted on to my eye still.

          Beautiful work on the shadow!
        • Infidels come, look at this thing in my hand
  • Saddam Trial

    Saddam Trial
  • Sgt Marvin Counts Holes

          too close for comfort!

        • Nice work on the shadowing, Only critique I could offer is watch the angle of the shadow. Sun is up and to the left, there should be little or no shadow along the left side of your bot. Right side shadow is spot on!
  • Nutgobbler 3000

    Nutgobbler 3000
        • The Phantom of the Robot-Opera, on Broadway. Now and at least until tomorrow.

        • hand looks really pale compared to face and neck
  • Power Wash

    Power Wash
        • Great concept and Great job on reflection. I'd add some shadows under the robot.
        • Nice reflection work.

          (Funny idea too!)
        • it looks like his back foot is a little off the ground
  • Lyndie C3PO

    Lyndie C3PO
        • Get up! I said get up. Oh dear, now what will we do?
        • Sorry sir I had to do it. I've been reprogramed and am so ashamed of this.
        • Bleep Bleep - Time for your shower Boy - Bleep.
        • Evil on every level. I love it.

Nice work merging 3PO with the source.
        • Now we see who the real STAR of this WAR is.
        • i was just about to do this one, i was gonna use c3p0 too... YOU STOLE MY BRAIN WAVES
        • I think this should have ranked much better in the contest. It's a great image.

  • Mr Buster

    Mr Buster
        • it would have to go forever to get rid of all that dust over there.
        • Brilliant Idea, man would he have his work cut out for him....

  • Poop Bot

    Poop Bot
        • Now, That's Dirty Job!
          Great concept!
        • A little more shadow under robot would be nice.
        • Great idea Pooper-scooper is gotta be one of the worst.

Critique: Bot is quite bright compared to his surroundings, but the main issue is the lack of shadow. Always check the source image to match shadows, (the camel leaves a perfect shadow to guide you in making the shadow).
        • With more training I think that camel could spell.
        • His scoop is too clean since his crap bag is full.

          Nice idea.
        • maybe some sharper shadow on the robot body would have boosted the realism a bit?
        • Yes, shadows, their color/tint/how they hit the object..I found out today, those are ALL important..lol TY Finn
  • Saddam

    Saddam
        • The hairy look is in, Saddy..... really.
        • Woot! well done.

Something I noticed when working with skin & bod parts is to try to steer clear of perfectly straight edges. (the seam between the face and the head cap) straight lines on human features tend to pull the eye away from believeablity.

          Beautiful Chop.
        • The smell of this job is so bad only a robot could do it.
        • Thanks for the advice midian. I'll definitely keep that in mind for all future chops!
  • Iraq Bot

    Iraq Bot
        • nice chop, but should crop picture to have dog stand out more.
        • Can you have it lifting it's leg on the jet? Hehehe.
        • Nice you combined an old contest with a new one.
        • Cute little bugger.

If any, my critique is that I would like to see the work you did a little more central to the image.
  • Danger Will Robinson

    Danger Will Robinson
        • DANGER! DANGER! STAY AWAY FROM THE WASTE CAN WILL ROBINSON!!
        • Cute entry.

The perspective on the robot however pulls away from believability. Notice the robot's hand is in front of sadam's shoulder, but looking down the body, his feet are 10 feet behind the trashcan.
  • Testing the water

    Testing the water
        • Smart idea.

May be nice to see the work you did a little more central to the image.

This contest is fueled by the following news: Clearly, the 21st century is here to stay. The U.S. Department of Defense rapidly is expanding its army of robot soldiers or warriors on land, air and sea. The Pentagon is taking these steps to reduce the number of American deaths and injuries in both Iraq and Afghanistan. These unmanned systems or warriors can go to places where the Pentagon does not want to put humans at risk. The belief is that these robots can take over the dangerous tasks associated with the war on terrorism, according to the Pentagon. There are a number of different mechanical, unmanned systems on the verge of being deployed, including miniture drones that can be launched into the sky by hand, bungee cord of catapult. In addition, there is the "throwbot" that can be tossed over a wall or into a building to prevent a deadly ambush. Another robot, the Pacbot, can sniff out a roadside bomb, defuse and detonate the weapon. The Marcbot pokes its own video camera through windows and doors, seeking out any evidence of danger.
