Top 4 Contest Gallery Pictures

This contest is fueled by the following news:
One of the photos that is featured in Ray Kurzweil's new book about humanity features the author himself wearing a sandwich board that reads "The Singularity is Near." He says that the particular photo is intended to poke fun at the superficial similarities between what he is trying to say and the millennial predictions. "The Singularity is Near" is also the title of the book itself. In it, the author predicts that in the not too distant future, technology and biology will merge to give rise to non-biological life. Speaking at a conference at MIT last week sponsored to Technology Review, Kurzweil sought to explain how he believes genetic engineering, nanotechnology and robotics, of GNR, will converge in the coming years to expand life and to improve society as a whole.

President Bush's "Hydrogen Initiative" sounds great! Hydrogen cars, hydrogen homes, hydrogen businesses, all running on clean and efficient hydrogen . . . well, not exactly. All that hydrogen would come from coal-fired and nuclear power plants. You might say George is full of . . . hydrogen.

Oh, and that fan in his head? I'm not sure if it's for internal cooling or propulsion.
