| Muslims in France are beginning to have it their way in regard to a new fast food restaurant -- "Beurger King." The restaurant was created to cater specifically to the large Muslim community in the country. The cheery, brightly colored establishment was launched in July in Paris, in an area filled with immigrants and housing projects. The menu maintained at Beurger King Muslim, or BKM, is standard fast-food fare: burgers, fries, sundaes and doughnuts, and prices are comparable to those found at all other major chains. However, the beef and chicken burgers served are prepared in halal fashion, meaning made with meat slaughtered according to Islamic dietary laws. |
