| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | A lot of people working in fast food
restaurants were deeply upset with
the commercial for Nationwide Insurance where Kevin Federline mocks
their jobs.
The advertisement shows Federline dreaming about becoming a rap star
while making his ends meet working at fast
food restaurants making
fries. National Restaurant Association (NRA), through its president,
issued a statement that the advertisement is demeaning and unpleasant.
Steven Anderson, NRA President, wrote in open letter to Nationwide Insurance
that their advertisement wrongfully portrays
fast food jobs as
unpleasant and presents fast food workers as losers. "This is a strong
insult for 13 million Americans working in the fast food restaurants,"
says Anderson, "and if the ad will be aired during the Super Bowl, NRA
will notify our members of the wrong images Nationwide Insurance sends
to Americans about fast food restaurant workers. Many of our members
are customers of Nationwide and will not take such insult lightly."
Vice president of advertising of Nationwide Insurance, however sees
things differently and replied that they did not try to mock anyone,
except for perhaps Kevin Federline himself.
The Nationwide advertisement is scheduled to be first published on
their website before being shown during the Super Bowl, and has the
slogan "Life comes at you fast."
Federline, 28, is in the process of a legal battle over the custody of his
children - Jayden
James and Sean Preston - with Britney Spears, 25, who filed for the divorce.
Federline's first rap album 'Playing With Fire' sold less than 7000
copies in November. The pre-nuptial agreement signed before marriage
with Britney Spears left Kevin with nothing after divorce. |
