Contest Directions: 
Whitney Houston, whose soaring voice and enormous talent was overshadowed in recent years by her battles with drug addiction, has died on the eve of the Grammy Awards she once reigned. She was 48.
Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen said Houston was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton. "There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent," Rosen said.
Houston had performed as late as Thursday night at a pre-Grammy event in the area, a raspy rendition "Jesus Loves Me" with singer Kelly Price.
Grammy organizers hastily retooled the ceremony to pay respect to Houston, with the help of singer Jennifer Hudson. RIP Whitney, you will be missed.
