| Yesterday, Apple released the long-awaited new iPhone, the iPhone 5 to the public. The thinnest and lightest iPhone in history possesses a new aluminum design, 4' Retina display, A6 chip and high-speed wireless communications technology.
One of the main differences of the latest model – the thickness is only 7.6 mm (thickness of previous models was 9.3 mm). In Apple, they boldly call the iPhone 5 the thinnest smart phone in the world. Even the weight changed - now, it is just 112 gm. The length of the new model is 123.8 mm (against 115.2 mm in 4S model) and width is 58.6 mm. The handset is manufactured in two colors - black with graphite and white with silver.
The new iPhone is equipped with a 4' retina display with 1136 x 640 resolution. As experts predicted, the iPhone 5 requires a new sim card – a Nano-sim (but not Micro-Sim, as it was earlier) and the iPhone 5 will not work at all with a Micro-Sim. Predictions with respect to ear phones became true - EarPods - their visual appearance has been changed.
Now it looks different and the connector - Lightning.
And this fact has raked more discontent amongst users since they now have to have more adapters for compatibility with other devices. As Apple says Lightning is smaller, smarter and more reliable when compared to the previous generation connector.
Regarding the camera, it is as usual 8 MP but the size is reduced by more than 25% than the size in the iPhone 4S. The new iSight camera in the iPhone 5 possess a lens, coated with sapphire crystal, which is thinner and much more reliable when compared to the standard glass and can ensure a crystal clear picture. The new feature for creating panoramic images allows it to capture panoramic images with a 28 MP resolution by just moving the camera in space in a gradual movement.
The new video features include improved stabilization, face detection while shooting a picture containing up to 10 people in a frame and the possibility to make photographs directly while video recording. The new FaceTime HD front camera allows you to make FaceTime calls with high definition, it can also be used for creating self-portraits and record HD video with 720p resolution. The iPhone 5 also has provision to share photographs with friends and family using the iCloud service.
The battery life is increased. The iPhone 5 is powered with an iOS 6 operating system, which includes more than 200 new features, including a new Maps application with cartography, developed by Apple and step-by-step navigation; integration with Facebook; Passbook system ; and has more features and languages in Siri.
LTE is not for all:
The iPhone 5 supports high-speed wireless standards including LTE and DC-HSDPA and according to boasting, the Internet speed will be faster. It is true that LTE access is provided by a limited number of operators. The iPhone 5 is equipped with a dual-band Wi-Fi module of 802.11n standard for supporting wireless data transmission at up to 150 Mbps speeds.

Some already referred it to the new iPhone but without the calling option.
For the first time, the iPod touch is released in five bright colors. Nthe new iPod nano (needless to say, that it is also the thinnest in the history?) is equipped with a 2.5' Multi-Touch display, convenient control buttons, built-in Bluetooth for wireless listening and is manufactured in seven new colors. Apple also launched a new iTunes version for Mac and PC, including a completely redesigned player and close integration with iCloud.
