The Van cat: a unique breed of feline that is pure white, is fond of swimming and has one amber colored eye and one blue colored eye. The cat is bred in the district of Lake Van near the city of Van in Eastern Turkey. Cat lovers have long admired this interesting and beautiful breed of feline. There are not many Van cats remaining. Their export from Turkey is prohibited by the government; therefore, there are few Van cats abroad. The population of Van cats in Turket is dwindling as well.
