Contest Directions:

Denver Art Museum goes psychedelic this spring. The groovy exhibition "The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1965-71." will last through July 19. Visitors can see over 300 psychedelic rock posters for the famous rock bands from the 60s and 70s - including the psychedelic posters for such iconic bands as The Doors, Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead. Besides seeing posters, visitors can take "The Psychedelic Side Trip," - an experiential area with hands-on activities including a wall of sound and a liquid light-show creation station.
Create your own psychedelic art, or photoshop any famous posters, movies or paintings to give them psychedelic theme.

The Blue parrot

When I think psychedelic, I think of black lights, neon, and my grandmothers glaucoma medicine,(if ya know what I mean) to make that velvet Elvis glow in the dark... I got the inspiration for this photo from a picture I took myself at a bar called The Blue Parrot in Savannah Ga. The picture was taken with a simple point and shoot Kodak share camera. I added the photo to my myspace page HERE and made it public so you can see the original photo I took, and what I had to work with.

When I think of psychedelic art I think of the old Black Light Posters of the 60's and 70's.

No sources. I drew the outlines of the elements in Illustrator, then built and colorized everything in Photoshop.
