Great. Good idea and well done. Just a few points: You should darken the street under and near the cars - shadows and reflections on the rainy street. Also the the right side of the Ferrari should be darker.

thanks for the tip TT did and done...also got rid of some magenta. That Ferrari has been a bugaboo all along, it was a driverless 'showroom' shot and so was completely static. The Toyota was a snap.

he's running. dogd only have two feet touching at a time, therefore no shadow touches the lifted feet and they indeed will look as though they are slightly elevated. That was one of the issues with putting him in there. If you look though the shadow does touch the front foot below the curb, and the lead hind foot. This effect is less of a problem in photos in higher light conditions.

I think the illusion is caused by the main shadow under the dog, too dark (unless you light up the street lamp) ; there are hardly any shadows in the source pic. You could replace the shadow with a very faint reflection on the wet ground.
