| | The Italian world championship racing team has given Pope John Paul a flame red Ferrari. They have given him the car because the said he has the inside track on the road of humanity. Michael Schumacher, the Formula One world champion, and the rest of the Ferrari team, met with the Pontiff in Clementina Hall to give to him the 1:5 scale model of car that won that Formula One championship in 2004. Luca di Montezemolo, president of Ferrari, told the Pope that everyone associated with Team Ferrari wanted to honor the Pope because of his defense of human rights and his courage, all demonstrated over the course of his 26 year reign. |
