The battle between Hillary and Barack is becoming more and more tense as their delegate votes are too close to secure the Democratic party nomination for now. Analysts predict that Texas votes will be a turnaround point in this election - the lone star state is a must to secure the party nomination. Both Barack's and Hillary's camps are trying to give the motivation to all target groups - whites, blacks, Hispanic, men, women - to win their votes, and demotivation to give votes for their opponent.
Imagine yourself as a campaign manager for any of the '08 US Presidential Candidates and create a motivational poster for your candidate, or demotivational poster for any other candidates. In other words, create posters to give motivations to voters to vote for certain candidate OR create posters with demotivations which would discourage voters to give votes for certain candidates.
Your posters should follow the format of classic "motivational / demotivational posters" - black background, image in the middle, followed by the title word(s), and the text message below.

| | Poster is a graphical document, elementary creation of art; concise, snazzy (generally color) picture with short text (as per rule on a big paper), executed in agitation manner, advertisement, information or with the intention of study. Modern posters are of a general polygraph reconstitution, created by an artist as original. Till the second half of the XIX century posters were called sometimes those with agitation fine printing of big sizes (for example, “leaflets” during the period of The Peasant’s War and the reformations in Germany in the XVI century), political placard in France in the XVIII century and so on. The placard should be understood at big distances, allocating among the other sources of information. In order to catch attention and interest of the spectator, to activate his perception, directed in the necessary directions of the consciousness and liberty to the action, posters are used in a range of specific artistic tools. In the posters some graphic images may be applied, exoteric symbols, comparison of different scale images, at different times and present times happening in various fields, generalized forms of items; print characters and placement of the text, bright conventional color decoration solutions plays key role in the posters. Sometimes photographs are included in the system of drawing tools of the posters (individual or in combination with a picture, painting). For many paintings at the international and native subjects satirical images of collective character are a typical.
History till XX century:
The appearance of the posters (in the beginning, as an advertisement, later as political) is related with the aggravation in the trading and industrial competition in the capitalistic establishment, with the intensification of the socio-political and the cultural life (raise in the number of theory institutions, industrial and sculptural exhibitions, masses meetings and manifestations and others). The application of lithography (including the color) made easy to create color posters quickly and number of copies. The advertisement poster was evolved in the Western Europe during the second half of the XIX century in consequence of the evolution from the basic fonts of the playbill and book selling notifications for the posters, in which slowly all the bigger part of the text was displaced by the ornament and figured pictures (Theatric posters are frequently and traditionally called as playbill). The leading role in the development of the posters during the end of the XIX century was belonged to The France (Posters of Jules Cheret, Toulouse-Lautrec, Thйophile Steinlen and others). In the works of Toulouse-Lautrec for the first time specific features of the artistic language of the posters were appeared: a generalized form (instantly memorable, some times not devoid of grotesque), image cropping, big role of shadow graphs, bright local color stains. However most of the posters in the end of the XIX – starting of the XX centuries were made of ornamental-decorative compositions out of the humor of the style of moderns differentiating from the style of the book-journal graphics primarily of with the sizes (the works of Alphonse Mucha and Eugиne Grasset in France, Gino Boccasile in the England, W. Bradley and Panfilda in the USA), other wise carried the naturalistic character. From the beginning of the years of 1910 posters slowly lost their first connections with the book-journal graphics in the modern style, occasionally getting closer to the character of a mounted picture (posters O. Fischer in Germany, F. Brangwin in the United Kingdom). The intermediate character got the creation of Leonetto Cappiello, in whom the principles of “Picture” and “figural” posters were associated. |
