i thought about doing something like this too, haha. the barber pole doesn't blend very well, though.

yep - obvious choice for a pole.. . Your pole would not be suspended in air tho - why not chop off the bottom bit and set it into the floor. Good try.

nice idea but watch out for the reflections in the metal (they're reflecting blue sky and pavement)
