In the United States in the past year cosmetic surgery and related practices increased an amazing 32%. There were 8.7 million such procedures in the U.S. last year alone. Leading the surge in such procedures was Botox injections. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons released this information as part of a report. Botox use is up 157% from 2002 with 2.9 million people seeking Botox injections last year. Collagen injections have also increased by 30% in the past year, according to the organization. It is thought that these types of procedures will become even more common with the approval of Restylane in the United States,. Restylane, which is hyaluronic acid, is a jelly like material that can be used with Botox as part of a wrinkle treatment regimen.
