Contest Directions: 
The third sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean topped the Memorial Day weekend boxoffice, but it failed to outperform its last year's installment "Dead Man's Chest." This new movie features the same star crew - Depp with his captain skills, Orlando Bloom with the same smile, and Keira Knightley with still a man's chest.
In this contest you are asked to photoshop the third flick "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" any way you like. Feel free to change the cast crew, design a sequel, merge "Pirates 3" with another movie, or make a product advertisement based on the movie, etc.

| | Sony Pictures have released the long awaited third installment of their
Pirates of the Caribbean saga. This time the journey takes
pirates to the "Word's End" where they have to save captain Jack
Sparrow. This movie has been blessed with a bigger production budget
than "Dead Man's Chest," and "The Curse of the Black Perl,"
and is full off impressive scenes, and special effects. Movie critics
were modest in their reviews of Pirates 3 and most said that this
movie's success mostly rides on the previous two flicks,
rather than being a good film on its own merits. The public is a better judge however, as many boxoffice hits got less than decent
reviews from the critics and media. So far it seems that the Pirates have
been on top of the movie world, at least this Memorial Day weekend. The
gross ticket receipts over the three days are $126 million, which just fell
short of the opening weekend totals for 2006 sequel "Dead Man's
Chest". Whatever the critics say, the movie is seen as a good
entreatment movie for the whole family, as well as a film which young
couples enjoy. As before, the star trio of Johnny Depp, Keira
Knightley, and Orlando Bloom fill the saga with action, humor, and of
course romance. However, only you should be a true judge of the
third Pirates of the Caribbean for yourself. Hate it or love it, but the
movie will not let you feel indifferent after you leave a cinema.
Pirates are mainly sea brigands, of any nationality, in any time, who by their own wish, rob any ships.
The Dolopians – Ancient Greek pirates, who were also known as Skirians, in the second half of VI B.C., settled in Skiros Island. Main area of their activities was the Aegean Sea.
In about 478 B.C., harried and sold to Dolopians as slaves, the Greek merchants ran away and asked Athens fleet commander Simon for help. In 476, Simon’s soldiers landed in Skiros, captured the island and Skirians themselves were sold as slaves.
Cossacks
In XV-XVII, Cossacks settled in outskirts of Moscovy practiced piracy. The most prominent pirate among cossacks was Stepan Razin. Gangs of cossacks-pirates under the leadership of Rajin looted not only merchants on Volga and the Caspian Sea, but also captured big cities, for instance, Astrakhan.
In those times, a huge “pirate republic” was existing in the upper stream of Dnepr (see also Zaporozhian sech). Zaporozhian cossacks raided mainly Turkish cities, located along the coast of Black sea.
Buccaneers- Sea brigands, predominantly in XVI century, also looted, like filibusters, Spanish ships and settlements in America. Usually at the beginning stage of opening up of the New World, Caribbean pirates were also called buccaneers. Later this name fell out of use and was replaced by the word filibusters.

Captors, corsairs, privateers and pechelings
These terms mean private persons who got from the government a license to capture and destruction of ships from hostile or neutral countries; occasionally, they are mixed up with
Pirates, but it is not correct. However difference between capers (corsairs) and pirates actually was quite relative.
The caper, who did not obey reprisal right could be considered as pirate; but in reality, adherence of reprisal right often was not met because of either actual necessity or sense of impunity. If the status of a citizen, of a warring country attacking enemy ships, is obvious, then the citizen of a neutral country, who has taken caper’s reprisal rights from several kings and on the basis of those rights loots neutral country’s ships, then he would be hardly different from an ordinary pirate.
Netherland’s “sea geuses and their heirs- pechelings, from a legal point can be treated as capers and as well as pirates in terms of dependence on their relation to Holland’s separatists or to the self-proclaimed Holland republic (however later laws recognized legality of reprisals given to capers though they were issued by a unrecognized authority, but who was in actual control of the country. And also filibusters and buccaneers who started as capers fighting Spain, at last became ordinary pirates. |
