* Amateur photographer is the one who does photography for his own pleasure or entertainment.
* Professional photographer is the one who does photography professionally for the earning profits.
Work of the photographer in a narrow sense represents the shooting of photographs directly. In a broad sense, photographer is the person, whose job consists of preparation for carrying out the shooting (selection of models, details, equipment, site etc.), direct shooting of photographs and subsequent work for processing and printing of photos.
Photographers are categorized on the basis of field of their activity and photo genres. Some of them are:
* Press photographer (newspaper photographer) is the photographer who is occupied with photo-journalism.
* Paparazzi are the press photographers who shoot the scenes from the private life of stars from film and show business, politicians for subsequent sale.
* Photo-artist is the photographer who does the artistic photography.
* Documentary photographer - photographer who shoots and makes documentary photos.
* Advertising photographer is the photographer whose profession is to make advertising photographs.

Tracking Down
In 1925 Doberman-pincher Sauer trained by a detective-sergeant Herbert Kruger, tracked a cattle thief throughout the entire Great Karroo, South Africa for 160 km just guided by the smell.
Unique dog who could have become sacred:
There was a local rumor going on about miraculous healings, occurring at the grave of a French borzoi known by the nickname of Saint Guinefort who died in XIIIth century, while rescuing a boy from snake, and for this the people declared it to be a Saint. But the church never gave it the Sainthood.
Unique dog, recognized as prisoner of war:
Pointer bitch by the name of Judy, favorite among the crew of English war ship Grasshopper, in 1942 was taken prisoner by the Japanese together with the team and it interned in the camp for war prisoners.
Rat Catchers:
Somewhere in between 1820 and 1824, a bull terrier named Billy having weight 11.8 kg for 17 hours killed 4000 rats. On 23rd April, 1825 for 5 minutes and 30 seconds it killed 100 rats on Tafton Street, Westminster, London, Great Britain. |
