Partial Toys
Contest Directions: After recalls of toys made in China, U.S. lawmakers are pushing for tighter laws on imports of Chinese toys and higher safety standards. Chinese toy industry is suffering a massive drop in demand from the United States, due to some toys containing toxic levels of lead and other heavy metals.
With all these toys that China produced and can not sell, perhaps they can still use them in the following way: Photoshop any products, objects, architecture, animals, insects or people partially made with toy parts. A good example may be a car which has toy doors and wheels (life size), or a gun which has toy gun parts. Please remember that cyborgs and robots are not made of toy parts and will be disqualified. E.g. A body with a toy head is an example of acceptable entry, but a body with a cyborg head is not acceptable in this contest.

This contest is fueled by the following news: TOY RECALL: American company Mattel Inc. recalled over 18 million toys sold worldwide due to apprehensions that the toys could pose a danger to children's health. China made die-cast Sarge, character from cartoon film "Cars" of company Pixar, were recalled earlier since the paint, used for painting the products, did contain higher than acceptable levels of lead. Dolls and other toys with small powerful magnets are also being recalled: Apprehensions are that the small magnets can get detached and swallowed by children. Discussion is about the toys such as Polly Pocket, Batman Magna, Doggie Daycare & One Piece. Apart from this, Barbie and Tanner play sets were also recalled. The recall was announced on Tuesday in Washington at a pres-conference by consumer product safety commission. It is emphasized that any information about sufferers due to the toys has not reached so far. Made in China: Approximately 80% of the worldwide manufactured toys are made in China. Less than two weeks back, Mattel recalled over 1.5 million toys, manufactured by subsidiary production unit Fisher Price. Mattel Inc blames the Chinese contractor, firm Hong Li Da that the paint, used in the production of toys was procured from unproven suppliers. Toys recall is the latest scandal in USA surrounding the products, manufactured in China. Peking is perturbed with such development of events as the image of Chinese products received a serious jolt. Chinese authorities announced a series of measures to tackle the issue. Yet, according to the opinion of analysts, due to the blistering rise in Chinese economy in the last twenty years, much time will be spent on correcting the situation.
