Scientists discovered why some aging brains
stay sharp. When aging process naturally worsens the memory, brains concentrate more, which provides daily brain exercise necessary to keep it sharp. The study finds that people with poor memory in their older years are normally sharper than their peers.
Keeping brain young slows the aging process for a whole body and helps to stay young. Brain is divided into two hemispheres - right and left. Most people have one brain hemisphere more active and dominating the other one. Depending on which brain side is dominant, determines many character traits - e.g. almost all "right-brainers" are left handed.
In the light of the above study, exercising brains helps to slow aging, but most people have one brain hemisphere dominant over the other. Can we thus expect that aging process may go unevenly in right and left parts of one's body?
Take the same celebrity (or politician, or otherwise a famous character - from history, movie, paintings, etc.) and VERTICALLY merge left and right parts of the face THE SAME PERSON at different ages - old and young. A good example would be merging right half of Al Pacino's face when he was young (or even a kid) with left half of his current face, or even with his old face in the future. You are welcome to choose either the real photos from younger and older years of your celebrity (then vertically merge the face halves), OR use one face (photo) and make one (vertical) half older or younger.
This contest is a spin-off of our popular Partial Face Transplants contest, which has been published in many magazines including People, Daily Mail, etc.

| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | Old age or aging: Unavoidable process, which leads to the appearance
of features of tiredness of individual organs and tissues as well as
entire organism (body).
Old age - Final stage of individual development of organism in our
World. Conventionally, old age is considered to be only after 75 years
-
so called physiological old age. But even in this condition,
intellectual and physical strengths, specific efficiency, general or
social activeness and interest to surrounding world can be intact.
Aging process starts in various organs and tissues not simultaneously
and takes place with different intensity. In many respects, aging
intensity depends on congenital, genetically deterministic properties
of the tissues.
Many families are known, whose members are distinguished by good life
expectancy without the appearance of loss of memory, psyche or
physical activeness up to 80 - 90 & more years. On the other hand,
short-living families do exist; life expectancy of members of such
families is 35 - 55 years.
It is proven that the life expectancy (longevity) of humans and
animals directly depends on the congenital activeness of super oxide
enzyme. Unfortunately, activeness of this super oxide
enzyme cannot be regulated from outside since it is
genetically programmed. However, only 70% neutralization work of
hazardous oxygen radicals is done by super oxide dismutase enzyme.
Remaining 30 % neutralization work is done by so called antioxidants,
content level of which can be maintained with the help of biologically
active drugs. Vitamin E, Beta- carotene, zinc and selenium
micro elements and others belong to biologically active drugs.
By supplementing these components to our food intake, we can check the
activity of 1/3 free-radical processes, restricting the aging speed of
our organism.
It is very important to understand the aging patterns. From the view
point of natural science, aging is gradual decrease in adaptive
capabilities of the organism.
It is impossible to precisely diagnose the onset of aging - it starts
secretly and affects not the entire body but most vulnerable organ or
system.
And, if in the beginning, the changes, caused by aging, practically do
not affect the adaptability of organism to drastically changing living
conditions, then later on, at a more evident age, adaptability of
organism to such challenges will be much more difficult.
In the first place, aging process is reflected on cardiovascular and
nervous systems. In aging process, cholesterol deposits leads to
gradual decrement in high-grade blood supply of cells of various
organs and tissues by nutrients and withdrawal of processed
metabolites (slugs) from cells.
Efficiency of organs is affected: Liver does not completely purifies
blood from water soluble toxins which leads to appearance of pigmented
senile macula on skin; Kidneys do not effectively filter the blood as
a result of which uric acid, residual nitrogen and other intermediate
metabolic products get accumulated in blood. High concentration levels
of uric acid, residual nitrogen and other intermediate metabolic
products in blood stop the primary metabolic processes and oppress the
cell respiration.
