I like the textural quality. I think he's reading the Moroccan Camel Racing Form. His face suggests either a missed bet or a bet he should be placing. As such, I would have his thumb squeezing hard on the paper. Perhaps a tooth or two could be showing as well.

I love this one, can't add teeth without starting over, It is very well done. He is holding the turned over pages so wouldn't need to squeeze hard.
