| | Alaska Governor Frank H. Murkowski announced that he was looking at really big salmon. In fact, he was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of Alaska Airlines' newest aircraft, the Salmon Thirty Salmon. A Boeing 737 has been painted to look like an Alaskan Wild Salmon, also known as an Alaskan King Salmon. The jet represents one of the most intricately painted commercial airplanes around today. The image on the plane comes complete with shiny scales, a dorsal fin and gills. 30 painters worked for 24 days on the aircraft. |
