| An Ecuadorean woman who is 116 years old has been declared the oldest person in the world. The title has been taken from a U.S. woman who previously was thought to be the oldest person alive, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Maria Esther Capovilla was confirmed to be the oldest person alive in the planet after her family sent details of birth certificate to the folks at Guinness. Kate White, from Guinness Records, indicated that the record breaker is in good health, has good sight and doesn't walk with a stick.
During aging, Nervous system, which consumes most part of the energy and requires oxygen supply, glucose, calcium and other nutrients continuously, is more sensitive to the metabolites accumulation.
Zeal (initiative), attention, efficiency deteriorate to some extent and ability to switch-over from one type of activity onto the other deteriorates and emotional instability and sleeping disorders increases in older people in view of the deterioration in the activity of neural processes.
Significant changes take place in mentality. During aging, deterioration of character, depression, loneliness and anxiety (uneasiness) are noticed. Thoughts about being useless and meaningless life occur and fear about the future haunt the older people. Often, people become mean or callous.
With age, protective potency of the organism changes, immune system, which protect the organism from infections, cancer regeneration of cells, conducive for quick restoration of affected organs deteriorates.
