NASA scientists interpreting data from the Mars Global Surveyor have noticed the planet's southern pole deposits of frozen CO2 shrinking, presumably due to a climate change like “global warming.”
Asked to comment about this on Sunday’s Meet the Press, DNC chair Howard Dean remarked, “It’s obvious we’re going to need tighter emissions requirements for SUV’s sold on Mars, perhaps another boutique gasoline blend for the Martian atmosphere. It’s not going to be easy, though – Republicans are typically hostile to environmental regulation and we’re not dealing with your typical red state here, this is an entire red planet.”

"Simon Wiesenthal was the conscience of the Holocaust. When the Holocaust ended in 1945 and the whole world went home to forget, he alone remained behind to remember. He did not forget. He became the permanent representative of the victims, determined to bring the perpetrators of the history’s greatest crime to justice. There was no press conference and no president or Prime Minister or world leader announced his appointment. He just took the job. It was a job no one else wanted. The task was overwhelming. The cause had few friends. The Allies were already focused on the Cold War, the survivors were rebuilding their shattered lives and Simon Wiesenthal was all alone, combining the role of both prosecutor and detective at the same time." (Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of The Wiesenthal Center)
Simon Wiesenthal helped bring over 1,100 Nazi War Criminals to justice.
After reading the following news story about a snake thief selling stolen snakes online and getting caught, I could only think of one thing to do with it.
Sandy Berger selling the stolen National Archives documents on eBay seemed like a perfect way to raise the money for his fine.
Do you think if he gets caught selling stolen documents on eBay that he might actually get a stronger sentence than the slap on the wrist he received? 2 years probation, 100 hours of community service, and $50,000 fine plus $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation seems like an awfully light sentence.
Maybe he'll get an additional 200 hours of community service.
