Advanced Photoshop Pictures Contest - 12 image entries
News in Pictures July 16 22
Contest Directions:  Create images of something that happened in the news during July 16 - 22, 2007. Here's an example of a recent news story that could be used. It seems the javelin throw will be kept away from the track this September when Senior citizens compete in track & field events in Milan. Some of the competitors are said to be as old as 90. French long jumper Salim Sdiri was speared by a flying javelin during the Golden League meeting in Rome Friday after Finnish thrower Tero Pitkamaki slipped at the end of his run-up. All I have to say about this is how fast could he have been running?

For Africa refugees, "Roots" hero is the scary face of America
More than 4,000 war-displaced pastoralists belonging to Eritrea's Kunama tribe, some of them languishing in this malarial holding camp for years, received a golden offer that the world's 9 million other refugees only dream of: free resettlement in the land of riches and liberty, the United States. Yet, to the bewilderment of aid workers, the overwhelming majority of Kunamas answered with a resounding "No thanks."

Scared indeed...

German Public TV has stopped covering la Tour de France, because of perpetual allegations of doping,

Former German champ Horst Steckfritz doesn't believe a word of all this. He still keeps in touch with his old pals in the peloton.
As we see, he's still in good shape.

Here he is with the blueprint of his new project, a folding bicycle, the Kaputtfahrrad. He can already fold the plan !

He hopes soon to be able to tie his laces.

END THE TORTURE !

President Bush had to undergo a small but humiliating surgical intervention.

The medics used a new technique invented by Mr Azimov. Mr Bush was a little reticent, having seen the movie.

The medical staff built the little submarine, but had trouble finding a volunteer crew, given the mission's destination.

Is it because of his own personal suffering that Mr Bush has decided to make a law to stop torture ?

The mission was unable to attain the brain, but doctors affirm the president will bear no unsightly scar as stitching was unnecessary..
