The biggest news flash this week was the scandal around Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich who was arrested by Federal agents on Tuesday and charged with fraud and conspiracy. As shown by the wiretaps records, Blagojevich was trying to "sell" the Illinois Senate seat, freed by President-elect Barack Obama. By law, the governor has the sole right to fill the senate seat freed by the president-elect.
The prospects for the big 3 US automakers bailout remained uncertain this week. The Senate will likely reject the deal, while White House and the Treasury considers help for car makers.
