John Kerry's choice of a running mate was trumpeted in the New York Post. The tabloid reported -- before official announcement -- that Kerry was going to pick Richard Gephardy of Missouri. However, at about 9:00 a.m., Kerry named Senator John Edwards of North Carolina as his running mate.
