Rocker/Environmentalist Sheryl Crow, who's touring with Laurie David to promote the cause of fighting global warming, created a bit of a stir when she recommended that Americans should limit their use of toilet paper to one sheet per rest room visit, using as many as 2 or 3 sheets only for those "pesky occasions."
After waves of outrage and ridicule swept through the talk radio universe, she added a comment in her blog that the toilet paper suggestion was just a joke. But evidently, some people take single-sheet hygiene quite seriously. Here's a video where a caller to Rush Limbaugh explains how to use a single sheet.
Taking Sheryl's joke (if it really was a joke) to the logical conclusion....
I imagine an Austin-Powers style comedy where Sheryl Crow, Laurie David and Al Gore champion the cause of toilet paper conservation against evil global warming deniers led by Karl Rove and his mini-me like protégé.... Although Al Gore uses substantially more toilet paper than the average American, he purchases toilet paper offsets so he lives a toilet-paper neutral lifestyle.
