| | The world's largest software maker, Microsoft, announced that it plans to invest more that $1 billion in the country of India over the next four years. Chairman Bill Gates made the announcement of the company's desire to deepen its presence in India. India exports $17 billion in software oriented products and services annually. The amount is expected to grow by nearly one third during the first part of 2006. The country has become a magnet for multinational companies, lured to India by wages that are one-fifth as high as in Western nations.
