The staff at the Johnson Space Center, together with retirees from the facility, marked the 35th anniversary of the first manned lunar landing at a party on Monday. The celebrated with Moon Pies, a vintage parade of cars and reflections of the event that thrilled the world. Mockups of the moon's surface were available at the event for viewing together with a personal hygiene kit that went to the moon with the astronauts and newspaper articles from 1969. There were also pictures of the crew members.
