| | A vicious, ferocious South American piranha has been pulled from the River Thames in London, according to British environmental officials. The four inch long piranha appears to have been dropped by a passing seagull. The fish landed on the deck of a boat that is used to oxygenate the River Thames. In the 1960s, the River Thames was declared dead -- devoid of life. Now it is the home to 119 types of fish. Residents of London were advised not to worry about the prospect of meat eating fish taking up residence in the River Thames. The finding of the piranha was a fluke. The Thames simple is too cold to support warm water fish in its waters.
