 According to German railway operator Deutsche Bahn, thieves dismantled and carted away some three kilometers of railroad track. The track was stolen from near the German town of Weimar. The company stated that it believes that the thieves probably would attempt to sell the tracks as scrap metal. The damage to the tracks amounts to more than $240,000. A spokesman for the company described the theft as a major criminal operation because to railroad tracks simply cannot be carted off with ease. |
