| Nigerian authorities have cracked down on broadcasters in that nation. No longer will miracles be allowed to be shown on television in Nigeria unless they are provable and believable. The National Broadcasting Commission has stated that television stations that do not follow this prohibition will be fined. They could even have their broadcasting equipment confiscated by governmental authorities. Nigerian television has been filled with broadcasts of Pentecostal services that actually center on miracles, alleged miracles, being performed. Many of the ministers who can be seen on television claim they can do everything from cure diseases to bring people wealth. Despite the new directives, there is no indication of what needs to be done to verify a miracle displayed on television. |
