| | At this point in time, nanotechnology has become well established at some major companies. However, with that said, Wall Street is only beginning to catch onto the money potential for the rapidly evolving industry for mini products, experts noted this week. Nanotechnology aims to create new materials by manipulating atoms and molecules. At Intel Corp., mini products are business as usual, so says Paolo Gargini who is the director of technology strategy at the company. Gargini spoke at the National Nanotechnology Initiative conference in Washington, D.C., which was held this week. Gargini noted that Intel manufactures both its Pentium processors and Centrino wireless chips on a mini scale. A nano-scale is defined as the manufacture of items under 100 nanometers. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter. |
