Biography
Milla Jovovich was born in Kiev on December 17, 1975. Father - Bogdan Jovovic, was a doctor from Montenegro & her mother - Galina Loginova was a Russian by nationality & a Soviet actress. As a child, Milla attended kindergarten in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1980, the family moved to London, then to Sacramento, USA & then Los Angeles. In early 1980's, her parents worked as servants in the house of director Brian De Palma. At school, attitude of other children was hostile due to the fact that her parents were from Soviet Union (which was associated with new spiral of Cold War). When Jovovich was 15 years old, her father was arrested & sentenced to 20 years for financial fraud with health insurance (he spent five years in prison).
She entered modeling business at the age of 11 & first appeared on the cover of Italian magazine "Lei". Later, famous American photographer Richard Avedon invited her to a photo shoot for magazine "Mademoiselle". When the editor learned about her age, he hastened to take shoot Jovovich. Only after warning from Avedon, her photos were restored. Issue of minors working in entertainment business became the topic of discussion of American talk shows for few months. In the same year, Milla had appeared on the covers of 15 magazines.
Milla Jovovich participated in Revlon’s advertisement campaign "Most Unforgettable Women in the World". She signed contracts with Hugo Boss, Guess, Calvin Klein; & her remuneration reached 3000 dollars per day. Since 1998 , she is the face of L'Oreal.
At the age of 13, she debuted in the Zalman King's movie "Two Moon Junction" (1988). At 15 years, she did leading role in the movie "Return to the Blue Lagoon"(1991). In 1992, she appeared as Mildred Harris, wife of Charlie Chaplin in the film "Chaplin". During the making of movie "Dazed and Confused", in which she appeared in a cameo role, Jovovich met actor Shawn Andrews. They married in October 1992 but divorced a month later.

However, in 1996, she returned to movies, participating in casting for a role in director Luc Besson’s film. On second attempt, she got the role & 1997, she acted in the film "The Fifth Element". By the end of year, she married Besson. In 1999, Milla Jovovich played the role of Jeanne D'Arc in Besson’s film with same name & divorced him in the same year. In 1998, Jovovich appeared as a prostitute in Spike Lee's film "He Got Game" alongside with Denzel Washington.
Along with model Carmen Hawk, Jovovich designed the clothing line "Jovovich-Hawk". In 2004, she became the highest paid model, advertising for cosmetics giant L'Oreal. According to Forbes rankings, her revenues amounted to 10.5 million dollars (including remuneration from films). In 2005, Jovovich visited Ukraine to participate in celebrating the 80 anniversary of International Children's Camp "Artek" in Crimea.
She starred in four action thrillers of "Resident Evil", directed by Paul Anderson. Thriller "Ultraviolet" was released in March, 2006. In the same year, crime drama ". 45 " was released only in few countries. On the official website of Jovovich, it was posted that, she would be appearing in the Paul Verhoeven's "The Winter Queen", based on novel by Boris Akunin. On February 28, 2007, Verhoeven intimated that the name of movie would be changed by retaining the original name of novel "Azazel" (Azazel - demon of deserts according to the beliefs of ancient Jews). New name, in his opinion, is more intriguing.
In 2010, she starred in the film "Tricksters", in which she has paired together with Russian stars Konstantin Khabensky and Ivan Urgant.
In 2009, Milla Jovovich starred in an erotic photo shoot for the magazine "Purple Fashion", photographed by Mario Sorrenti.
In 2010, Milla Jovovich was the face of special charity bag from Tommy Hilfiger, limited edition to help the "Breast Health International" association. Organization deals with the problems of breast cancer in women.
Personal life and hobbies:
She was married to actor Shawn Andrews & director Luc Besson. On November 5, 2007, she gave birth to daughter Ever Gabo, whose father is director Paul Anderson. On August 22, 2009, she married Paul Anderson.
On her official website, Milla publishes excerpts from the diary, in which she mentions about various events of her life. Milla practices martial arts, in particular, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Milla Jovovich is a left-hander. Her height is 174 cm.
On her twitter, Milla informed that she is Orthodox Christian by birth but can attend any church, where love & equality exists.
