| | A controversial cleaning of Michelangelo's statue David is now completed. It was undertaken in time for the 500th birthday of Michelangelo himself. The statue is now brighter in appearance by far from spotless after the cleaning. There remain some yellowish streaks on the statue and some violet colored mold stains as well. The cleaning of the statue did remove a good deal of the grime that had accumulated through the years, however. |
