| | Conservative Christian groups have issued what some are calling a gay alert warning. This time the gay alert warning involves a children's video featuring SpongeBob SquarePants, Barney and many other favorites. The video has been sent to over 60,000 schools across the United States in March. The video actually is a remake of the popular 1979 song We Are Family. In addition to SpongeBob and Barney, the video features the likes of Winnie the Pooh, Bob the Builder, the Rugrats and 100 TV cartoon stars. A foundation set up by songwriter Nile Rodgers created the video. The foundation was set up after the September 11th attacks to promote the nation's healing process. Christian groups are objecting to a tolerance pledge at the foundation's website that calls for people to respect the sexual identity of others. |
