An interesting idea. Certainly an unexpected combination. Try to lessen the smoke effect around her dress and instead morph her dress into the smoke so that she looks attached to the cannon. Also, there should be enough ground cover in the original image to the upper right of the cannon so that you can clone this area and position it to the left of the cannon and around your model without creating a repeating pattern as exists now in your entry. If you find that you are having to clone too much of the original image in order to create a complete background for your finished work then try placing the cannon in a new background.
